How to Remove Attribution Widget in Blogger (e.g Simple Template Powered by Blogger)

Blogger's attribution widget is the credit beneath all blogger templates i.e template name powered by Blogger (e.g simple template powered by blogger)

Some bloggers find this irritating especially those with custom domain names. To them, having that "powered by blogger" does not make the blog look professional. Its so obvious that you can't remove this widget (neither can you fully edit it) the way you remove other widgets whereby you click edit on the widget as its arranged, after the window opens then you click on remove and you confirm the action. The funniest part is that you won't even find the remove button there. Now lets get back to business. Before you can remove this attribution text shown beneath your template; you have to apply this little trick:Go to your page design,

Click on Edit Html, tick the expand widget template box. Then press Ctrl + F  (Find)on your keyboard, look for the word

"attribution"   or   <b:widget id='Attribution1' locked='true' title= ' ' type='Attribution'>

Now, replace that part of the code that says     locked='true' to locked='false'

Then save your template. Make sure you don't tamper with anyother part of this code. Go back to your page elements (design) then click on edit where you have the attribution widget, now you'll find the remove button since you have unlocked it by changing that line of code.

You can now click on remove and confirm the delete action.

If you want to put a fully personalised text to your footer (where the attribution widget was before) simply add a gadget of html/javascript taking the place of the removed attribution widget. Add your custom attribution in the code space and save you template. You can also add more elements like pictures and javascript effects as your attribution, so far its not beyond html or javascript code.
